Our Programme
The Center's mission is to facilitate the spiritual, social and economic development of the Island, and seeks to achieve this objective by attracting to our shores good folks with skills to share.

In our primary and secondary school programme we invite retired teachers to tutor children experiencing difficulty in Maths and English and in our Adult Education program we invite folks to come and teach the skills by which they have earned their living.

Who comes to our Center? Well, we have had Butchers and Computer Specialists, Special Education Teachers and Psycologists, Pastry Chefs and Beauticians, Carpenters, and there is room for a lot more.

How Does It Work:

Easy - If you are willing to share your skills, we invite you to be our guests at the Center, AT COST, (see rates sheet) in exhange for two hours of Service Work daily, five days a week. Some of the courses/programmes we support are offered on site, while others require us to bus our volunteers to specific locations (Pretty good way to see the Island actually). On occasion the volunteers determine that it is more effective to focus on a five-day week rather than two hours a day and when this is the case we arrange a one week on, one week off schedule.

For pricing purposes we have established categories of participants. First 'The Participant', Second through Forth, 'Guests'. The intent is to allow us to ramp down costs as the rooms are filled...

How Do You Know If You Have What We Are Looking For?

What we are looking for are normal Christian people who have something to give, and everyone, well almost everyone, fits into that category. It is not uncommon for groups to form with a specific purpose in mind, example: a group skilled in the manufacture of marketable handicrafts, or a choir willing to teach singing and give a few performances. Everyone has something to offer, and we are always excited by new ideas.
